Day 0 of Experiment Zero
Today is the start of a game I made called Experiment Zero (E0).
I don't know what the future holds, so I made a game to position me, or anyone else who plays, to thrive in the chaos and weirdness that's coming.
Will AI turn into Skynet, take everyone's jobs, and then enslave us?
Will WWIII break out sometime soon?
Will the population collapse?
The answer to these questions is MAYBE.
In my career building predictive analytics software, I learned that trying to predict the future is really hard and you are bound to be wrong more often than you are right. The best move is to make your best guess based on the best information you have, then move quickly when you see an opportunity and cut your losses as soon as you know something will not work.
Experiment Zero is my answer to this question: How do you create value when everything changes faster than you can plan for it?
What is Experiment Zero?
It is an ongoing game where I test multiple ways to make money at the same time. I play it in 30-day seasons called Gauntlets.
I pick 3–4 different areas to experiment in. I call these Lines. One Line might test freelance writing. Another might try selling digital products. Another might explore affiliate marketing. Each Line runs one specific test at a time. I call this a Bet.
Every Bet has a clear yes/no outcome and a deadline. Like “get 3 paying clients by Friday” or “sell $500 worth by month-end.” No extensions. No moving the goalposts.
The goal is simple: increase my leverage, meaning how many dollars I make per hour of work, and build multiple income streams that do not need me babysitting them 24/7.
At the end of 30 days, I keep what worked and try new things in the Lines that didn’t hit. Then I start the next Gauntlet.
My first Gauntlet starts today
I will run 4 Lines for the next 30 days. Some are creative work. Some are market tests. Some are wild shots in the dark. Each has one Bet that will either hit or miss.
I will document every Bet, every result, and every decision to keep or kill an experiment. When I fail, you will see exactly how. When something works, you will see what made it repeatable.
The game never ends, but this first season starts today.
